Yare Cup – Cancelled

The Yare Cup, scheduled for tomorrow 12th March 2017 hosted by Norwich MYC at their Whitlingham Country Park, Norwich venue has been cancelled.

The weather forecast for tomorrow is only 3 -5 knots of wind from the south, with quite heavy rain. For Whitlingham this means that there will be no wind on the water.

After consulting with the committee and Henry Farley, they have decided to postpone the event to a later date, as they did not want competitors travelling to Norwich only to find that there would be no racing.

They look forward to seeing you on a revised date to be advised.

Cambridge Model Yacht Club

Please be advised that Cambridge Model Yacht Club has moved to a new water at the Milton Country Park, because the Rectory Farm has closed. the new venue is Todd’s Pitt, CB24 6AZ and their web site is http://www.cambmyc.org.uk.

They sail on a Sunday morning from about 9.30am collecting in the car park and sail until about 12.30pm. They sail IOMs, with a couple of members with 6M yachts,  but another class they  will consider is the Dragon Force 65 if there is enough interest in the future.

Events Diary

Please be advised that we have added an ‘Events Diary’ Page, which can identify all events in the Eastern District. This can be viewed in various ways, namely, Weekly, Monthly or a list (Agenda), just by clicking on the appropriate tab – we plan to remove the current ‘Calendar of Events’ page and the ‘Important Dates’ on the side as soon as we have added all the events known to date.

Known events, up to the end of June are already listed, and the rest will be added over the coming week or so. But if Clubs wish to show any additional Club ‘Open’ Events to this diary, please provide details to John Newton (john-newton@tiscali.co.uk) and they can be added very quickly. I believe the diary can also be downloaded into a member’s own Google Diary if you have one set up.

I hope this is a useful page for members.
